Our Solar System Has Renovated After 52 Years!

Our old childhood days are not so far, sitting on the chair inside the Birla Planetarium, is the best way to feel the presence of space on earth. Do you remember? Watching the moon, stars, and the solar system while relating the experience with our daily science classes. The days are now back.  Asia’s first public planetarium, the Birla Planetarium has now restored and upgraded with the latest technologies after 52 years.

Modernizing with the latest hybrid projections system direct from German Optical Giant Zeiss. With a state-of-the-art Skymaster Velvet projection system, full-dome digital projectors, and an Astro corner. The contrast (resolution) of the projection system is 2,500,000:1. This is really high-level technology for India. It is basically an optomechanical projector efficient at showing the night sky as it is seen naturally. Going along with nine hybrid resolution digital projectors that builds an enchanting impression of the Solar system.

 

In its 52 years of performance, the planetarium has introduced more than 25 million people Since its origination, has designed and presented to the public and students more than 300 astronomical projects trafficking with many facets of astronomy, astrophysics, celestial mechanics, space science, history of astronomy as well as mythology regarding moon and stars.
